Just two little thoughts I had during the week, but I left writing a reflection too late...
In the Gospel of today the Pharasees try to catch-out Jesus by being clever. If Jesus would have denied paying tribute to Ceasar he would have been in trouble with the local authorities, would he have said it is ok to pay taxes, his opponents would have charged him with that.

But Jesus does not only see through their trap, but also makes clear the distinction between our duties to God and our duties towards society.

But another aspect is that we should not try to 'outwit' God. God looks at our inmost hearts, and as is clear from the reflection, knows exactly what we are really up too! Be therefore honest with God, and ask His help if needed instead of trying to be cleaver!
