Reading the Creation account in Genesis

The St Saviour's Symposium is a group of Catholics who are eager to understand the Catholic faith, and, drawing inspiration from that tradition, to think about the 'big ideas' that underpin our culture.

This time we have Fr. Terence Crotty O.P. in our Symposium series, giving a lecture on Creation in Genesis. Do we read the creation accounts as a literal text or is there more under the surface?

Did you see the tumbleweed?

Yes, this blog hasn't had much posts in the last while, and I just want to write a post to explain why...

We have entered our second term of this university year, and my last term Philosophy before hitting Theology. This includes for us the writing of a dissertation and it takes quite a bit of time, apart from the normal study load. So I try to focus on that at the moment.

There are off course some other projects on the go as well, and I hope to have some video's launched soon. We have started recording a series explaining the Creed, and two 'preview' episodes should be available online soon. We also had a talk on 'the Dictatorship of Relativism' by David Quinn last week of which the editing is almost done, and last night a talk on the reading of the book of Genesis as part of our monthly Symposium here in St. Saviour's.

There is still Fr. David Barrins OP's ordination to come online as well. and we are also working on an iPhone App, and I hope it will become available in the next month or so, development of a first version is almost finished, and it is waiting for the developer license from Apple to start some serious testing.

Well, just a boring post on some of the projects going on here in St. Saviour's, but I just felt I should at least make some comment on the blog... for anybody who is interesting to follow us Dominicans, Dominicans Interactive is the site where we are focusing our attention on at the moment.

The Irish Dominicans have a website called Dominicans Interactive with online resources. We also have an iPhone/iPad App, which can be found in the iTunes App Store.
